Roxanne St. Claire
National Bestselling Author of
Romance, Suspense and Women’s Fiction
Roxanne St. Claire is a bestselling, RITA-Award winning author of eighteen novels for Pocket Books, Silhouette Desire and HQN. She currently writes a popular romantic suspense series called “The Bullet Catchers” that features a cadre of elite, fearless bodyguards and security professionals. In addition to the RITA, eleven of her books have won major industry awards, including the the Daphne du Maurier, the HOLT Medallion, the Maggie, Booksellers Best, Book Buyers Best, several Awards of Excellence, the Aspen Gold and the Gayle Wilson Award of Excellence. In addition, one of her novels, The Sins of His Past, was recently selected by Borders Group buyers as the 2007 overall “Borders Top Pick” in the Book Buyers contest.
Her novels have been selected for the Doubleday and Rhapsody Book Club,
have been translated into dozens of languages and routinely spend time
on the Walden Books Bestseller List, including two consecutive weeks
at number one.
Roxanne holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Market Communications
from UCLA and completed several post-graduate courses in Marketing
Management at Harvard University. Prior to launching a full-time career
as
a novelist, Roxanne worked as a television actress and news reporter,
appearing in Bosom Buddies and Laverne & Shirley, and
hosting a regional news program in southern California. She then
launched a career in public relations and marketing, including seven
years as
a Senior Vice President for Hill & Knowlton, one of the world’s
largest communications firms. For most of the 1990’s, Roxanne
ran a successful marketing consulting business, specializing in media
relations, damage control, image management, strategic communications
and investor relations. Her clients included Burger King Corporation,
Wyndham Hotels, Sunbeam Corporation, Windjammer Barefoot Cruises and
several prominent politicians and celebrities.
Roxanne joined the Romance Writers of America in 2000, held a board
position in her local chapter and is currently active in three chapters
in her
home state of Florida. In 2006, she is serving as the Chairperson
for the RWA Image Committee, responsible for generating programs designed
to improve the public image of romance fiction.
